Why we stock this
FitAID is the can for after training. Celsius is the one for before. Most energy drinks are either a sugar bomb or so loaded with caffeine that you're jittery through your warm-up. Celsius sits in a better spot. It has zero sugar, is low calorie, and has around 100mg of caffeine, which is about what you'd get from a decent flat white. That's enough to lift a 6am class or a post-work session without wrecking your sleep. Kiwi Strawberry is the pick of the range: tart, fresh and not too sweet. Best ice cold.
One honest note: the NZ Celsius is sweetened with sucralose and acesulfame K. If you'd rather avoid artificial sweeteners, FitAID RX Zero is your can.
What it is
Celsius is a US energy drink brand built around the "live fit" crowd. The NZ version is made locally by Frucor Suntory and formulated to meet Australia/New Zealand caffeine limits. The caffeine comes from a mix of added caffeine, guarana seed extract and green tea extract. It's rounded out with ginger extract, taurine and a B-vitamin complex.
Lightly sparkling, zero sugar and it tastes like fruit rather than battery acid.
The flavour
Kiwi Strawberry – tart kiwifruit up front with sweet, ripe strawberry behind it. Bright, fresh, and more refreshing than sweet.
